OUR
CORPORATE MISSION:
The mission of Greater Heights Family Worship Center is to reach
a lost and dying world that is in desperate need of the Lord Jesus
Christ. There are people who have been hurt in church and we want
them to come and experience the refreshing of the healing waters
of the Lord. We want to see lives changed, broken hearts mended
and those that need deliverance, deliver. Those that need healing
healed. Those that need salvation will come to the saving knowledge
of Jesus Christ. We are “EXPECTING MIRACLES!”
OUR
VISION:
The Bible says
in Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision, the people perish”
A vision implies a thought process: planning, building, giving-action!
People will perish unless someone has a vision to help them.
The vision of this church isn’t just for gaining a larger
congregation. There are those churches who just want numbers, which
is not our goal! We want to see lives changed. Our vision is to
equip believers to be able to recognize the enemy. We do want to
build a work for the Lord here, but we are reaching out to those
who have been hurt in church or have never attended church before.
We want to reach out to everyone to see them draw closer to God
and realize that he is the source of our help.
This vision drives us to our knees to talk to God about people and
will drive us to the streets to talk to people about God. Many churches
are failing to grow because no one there has a vision. We believe
in advancing the kingdom of God with the vision God has given us.
So, real church growth starts with a vision-a vision that will grip
us and will not let us go.
OUR
VALUES:
1. Put God first
in everything you do.
2. Biblical preaching and teaching.
3. Worshipping God with passion.
4. Being a place where everyone feels like family.
5. Reaching out beyond our church into our community.
6. Having a close relationship with God and each other.
HISTORY
OF THE CHURCH:
On November
8, 1968 this church was founded by D.W. Lambert, his family and
nine other families as Springhead Church which was a non-denominational
church. It started in a tent on Old Mulberry Road in the center
of Springhead. In January 1969 the church became a chartered church
in the Pentecostal Church of God (Headquarters located in Joplin
Missouri). The property where we are located now was obtained in
1969. Over the next decade there were a lot of changes that transpired.
There have been pastors who have aided in the growth of this church
over the years.
This church
is on the rise. New families are being added each week. People are
coming and seeing the spirit that is in this church and the vision
that is being shared. We believe God has a purpose for this church
and as we are approaching our 40th year of existence, we believe
God is going to do something tremendous in our midst.
